America’s Finest City, San Diego, California is located in the southern most county in California, San Diego County. “San Diego is the second largest city in California”, (Wikipedia, 2013). Bordered by Orange and Riverside Counties to the north, Imperial County to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and Baja California, Mexico to the south. San Diego is known for it’s mild but, diverse climate. “Average temperatures are 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit, with more than 200 days above 70 degrees Fahrenheit. With warm dry summers and low rainfall averages of 9-13 inches, San Diego’s climate is described as semi-arid”, (San Diego Wikipedia entry, 2013). “Air quality in San Diego is ranked as good to moderate depending on what part of the city you live in. Downtown and the coastal regions tend to have moderate air quality where the outer regions of the city fall in the good category”, County of San Diego Air Pollution Control Distric website, 2013). “According to an article on NBC News, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports that San Diego is 9th of 10 cities with the worst drinking water in the nation. They report San Diego’s water system contained eight chemicals exceeding health guidelines”, (NBC News website, 2013).
